The story of how The Wish Group came to be, and where we plan to go.

Our Story

The Wish Group began in 1992 as Australia’s first mental health-focused nursing and recruitment agency. Since then, we’ve evolved into a trusted provider of home care services, aged care coordination, mental health training, and university support programs.

Our name reflects what we do: helping people get the support they wish for, and deserve.

Still independently owned and clinician-led, we’ve always believed in the power of personalised, mental health-informed care. From individuals and families to businesses and universities, we work with people at every stage of life to improve wellbeing, build capacity, and create connection.

Meet Our Founder

Deborah, a mental health nurse with over 30 years of experience, founded The Wish Group to create a more flexible, compassionate approach to care and clinical work. Her background spans community mental health, inpatient settings, child and adolescent services, and health education.

As Director, Deborah brings her deep experience in clinical supervision and training into every layer of the organisation. Under her leadership, The Wish Group continues to grow as a safe, empowering space for both clients and clinicians, offering high-quality support to aged care recipients, universities, and workplaces across Melbourne and Geelong.
